Congratulations to Glenalmond pupils who have received their 2025 SQA Higher and Advanced Higher exam results today.
Classics, Computing Science, Italian, Music and Spanish students topped the leaderboard, with 100% A grades at both Higher and Advanced Higher levels.
Physical Education followed closely behind, with 92% of candidates achieving A-B grades at Higher, with 80% and 77% achieved in Drama and English, respectively.
We are delighted to confirm that 24% of our pupils achieved a full suite of straight A grades across their chosen Higher subjects, which is an incredible achievement.
This was the first year of delivering Advanced Highers at Glenalmond, with 60% of results across all subjects being awarded grade A.
This year’s results demonstrate Glenalmond’s commitment to helping pupils realise and reach ambitious futures through academic and vocational pathways. While most of our Higher pupils will stay on and complete the Sixth Form at Glenalmond, we would also like to congratulate those who have already secured places at universities and in further education.
Sandy N achieved an impressive five A grades and plans to take up his conditional offer to read History at the University of Glasgow. Alex P attained an early A grade at Advanced Higher, securing her place to pursue her passion in the world of musical theatre, and Skye R exceeded her entry requirements, going on to study for a career in film and television.
Glenalmond is proud to offer an extended range of academic pathways, with a carefully curated suite of subjects. This approach ensures a curriculum of depth and quality with personalised support for our pupils, allowing greater flexibility and choice, with the ability to mix and match qualifications to suit individual pupil strengths and interests.
Lucy Elphinstone, Executive Principal and Warden, commented on this year’s results:
“I would like to congratulate all our pupils who have worked so hard to prepare for these exams. We wish them all the very best for the start of the next academic year. We have every confidence that they will continue to fulfil their potential and go on to make the world a better place.
I would like to thank our dedicated teachers who have supported pupils every step of the way and, like me, could not be more proud of their efforts.”
This is a strong start to our 2025 suite of exam results, and we look forward to reporting on our A-level and GCSE achievements later this month.
