Over the course of the school year 2024 - 2025, there have been a number of outstanding achievements across a range of sports and age groups, highlighting the depth of talent that we have at Glenalmond.

Glenalmond were represented in three finals days across three different sports, two different age groups and across all three terms. The 1st XV Rugby and the 1st XI Football both finished their seasons as runners-up in the School’s Cup Plate Competitions, while the U15A Cricket team finished third in the country in the T20 Schools Cup. The U15B Lacrosse team won the National U15B Tournament and the U15A Girls’ Tennis team played extremely well to finish the term unbeaten recording victories against Strathallan, Fettes and Dollar. It has been excellent to witness the success of our teams across the year and we look forward to cheering them on again in September.

In addition to these accomplishments, the school stood out as the only institution to complete the full route of Doddie’s Grand Tour by bike—an outstanding testament to determination and school spirit. Pupils also took part in the challenging Scottish Island Peaks Race, further demonstrating their versatility and resilience in diverse sporting disciplines.

We have also seen some notable individual accomplishments this year.  Brooke B was, for the fourth consecutive year, selected for the Scotland Alpine Ski racing team!  Maisie D earned a place in the Scotland Emerging Girls squad and played against Ulster earlier this term.  Clara M was selected to represent Scotland at the Chillington Hall Regional & Youth Championships in September. Clara also achieved notable success later in the year, winning both the 1m class at the Fife Pony Club Sport Cup and the 90/95cm class at the Scottish Schools Equestrian Championships.  Caitlin J was selected to represent Scotland at the Chillington Hall Regional & Youth Championships in September.  Erin H competed for Scotland U18 in the International Mounted Games Association Home Internationals and has been selected to represent Scotland U18 in the International Mounted Games Association European Championships (August 2025).   Carmen M has also been selected to represent Scotland U18 in the International Mounted Games Association European Championships (August 2025).  Rory H represented Scotland at the Inter Country Teams at Arena UK Grantham and finished 2nd individual. He also finished 2nd at the Burghley Gold Cup in September.  Michael S and Finlay H were selected for the Scotland U18 and U17 rugby teams respectively, while Adrian Pyne, Robert R, Kealan V and Sandy B were selected for the Scotland U16 rugby training squad.  Alex D has achieved a scholarship in golf, and will start at Darlington School in Georgia in August.  Aimee P competed in the U21 Scottish Curling Championships

These performances and results highlight not just our depth of talent but also the breadth of talent we have at Glenalmond.  These accomplishments reflect the hard work and commitment of our pupils, and we congratulate all those who have contributed to such a memorable sporting year.

Thank you to all those who have supported sport at Glenalmond this year and we look forward to welcoming you back in the new academic year as we continue to build on these strong foundations.
