Glenalmond College Founders' Sports Day: A Celebration of Community and Spirit
There are days in the school calendar that feel truly special. Founders' Sports Day is one of those days, and this year it reminded us, in the most vivid way possible, of what makes Glenalmond such a remarkable place to be.
From the earliest moments of the morning, there was a sense of excitement across the College. Pupils, parents, staff, and OGs gathered together, to take part in a day of sport and socialising. Whether competing, cheering, or simply soaking in the atmosphere, everyone played their part in making the occasion everything it should be.
At its heart, Founders' Sports Day was not about winning or losing. It is about participation, about the willingness to give something of yourself, to encourage those around you, and to be part of something greater than any individual result.
That spirit was on full display throughout the day, in the determination of those who competed and in the warmth of those who cheered them on.
As Glenalmond approaches its 180th year, occasions like this carry an even deeper resonance. The traditions we uphold, the values we celebrate, and the sense of belonging that defines life at the College are all part of a story that stretches back to 1847. Founders' Sports Day connects us to that story and serves as a reminder that community, at Glenalmond, is not something we talk about. It is something we live.
The day was a testament to the character of our pupils, OGs and wider community, that the Glenalmond experience goes far beyond the classroom.
